BeingWell Plus is a website run by Southern Cross Health Society that brings together information about health, wellness and amazing partner offers. This statement lets you know what information BeingWell collects about you and what we will do with it.

What information do we collect?

• Registration information: name, work email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, region, and registration code

• Your IP address and information about your use of the site through the use of cookies

• Any information you send to partners through our site’s enquiry forms enquiring about their offers will be retained by us for a maximum of eight weeks

• Reports from our partners about the number of users who take up offers promoted on our site, but these are aggregated and do not contain any identifiable details.

How do we use your information?
We will use your information to tailor relevant content to you, understand how people are using the site, and market our site and Southern Cross products to you.

We will analyse your use of the site against your registration information so we can understand how it is being used by different demographics and improve it. We use cookies to do this and you can find out more about this in our cookie policy

We will also use your registration information to see if you are already a Southern Cross member. If you aren’t already a member, we may use your contact details to get in touch with you to discuss the benefits of joining us.

If you are a member, or become one, we will make a note in your customer record that you have a BeingWell Plus account.

We may also use your contact details to get in touch with you about other content, products or services you might be interested in.

You can opt out of being contacted for marketing purposes at any time.

We will use the information you send through the site’s enquiry forms to record the number of enquiries made to partners.

We may use your region to filter partner offers that are only available in particular regions, and to tailor communications to you if your region is affected by an event.

How do we share or disclose your information?
In short, we will not disclose identifiable information about you to third parties without your consent.

We will only pass on identifiable information about you to our partners if you request their services or take up an offer by filling in an enquiry form on our site. In these cases, they will be sent the information you choose to enter in the enquiry form.

We provide aggregated reports to employers about their employees’ use of BeingWell Plus, such as popular topics browsed or partner offer uptake, but no identifiable information is contained in these reports.

If you don’t already have health insurance with us, we will pass your contact details to our Southern Cross Health Society sales team, who may contact you to discuss joining us. Aside from this, we will never share information about your use of our site or partner offers with other parts of Southern Cross Health Society, including Southern Cross Health or Life Insurance. In return, BeingWell will never have access to your claims records or health information.

Is your information secure?
We take all reasonable steps to make sure your personal and health information is kept safe from loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure and/or misuse, in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act and Health Information Privacy Code.

How can you access and correct your information?
You are entitled to have access to and request correction of any of your personal information or health information held by us.

We do our best to ensure that the information about you that we collect, store, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. Prompt notification of any changes to your contact details will help us to do this.

If you do not provide us with your information, what then?
If you do not provide us with all the information in the registration form, you will be unable to register to use the BeingWell site.
